What challenges did I face?

First time creating a dashboard

It was my first time creating a dashboard and a master list that contains an employee’s personal and work information. I wasn’t feeling quite confident because of that.

Design limitations

Not all of my designs were feasible, as the website will be published using Microsoft PowerApps, which presented limitations in terms of functionality and design possibilities.

So... what did I do?

Created user personas

I created user personas based on specific archetypes within the design studio and considering their access levels in the automation tracker. These archetypes included admins, leads, members, and new members of the design studio.

Studied PowerApps

I spent some time researching on how to use PowerApps by watching tutorials and helpful guides online so I can adapt and achieve my designs for the automation tracker.

Created low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes

Before creating the low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes, I ideated on the look and feel of the automation tracker and created a detailed mood board.

What did I learn so far?

Not all designs are possible

As a designer, you have to understand that not all designs you made are feasible. However, I've come to realize that effective communication with stakeholders and developers can often lead to finding alternative solutions or workarounds.

Believe in yourself

Just because it’s your first time doesn’t mean you can’t do it. Do not be afraid to try something for the first time and be confident in yourself as a designer. Most importantly, it’s okay to make mistakes along as you learn something from it.
